DTN Activity

NOVEMBER 11, 2023

Last Friday, we reached an important milestone at Osmium. We had our first final review meeting (and certainly not the last one!) in a project with the European Space Agency - ESA as prime contractors.

We have successfully supported the ESA-ESOC with the following aspects:

  • Comprehensive analysis of BPSec for securing ESA's space missions
  • Assessment of BPSec capabilities to deal with common threats
  • Definition of a method to address the absence of formalized security policies in BPSec specification by means of security rules
  • Development of a flexible testbed to simulate BP/BPSec-enabled delay tolerant networks
  • Analysis of testbed behaviour and functioning over two PoC applications (EO data download and Luna Communications)

Additionally, we presented a paper at the 2023 IEEE International Conference on Wireless for Space and Extreme Environments (WiSEE 2023) in Portugal in September of this year.

All these achievements were possible thanks to a great and professional team at Osmium and the collaboration of GTD and i2CAT.

It has been an exciting project and this is only the beginning!

Thanks ESA team at ESOC for your trust and see you again soon!
